We're not just monkeying around...
Jane Arnold and Emily Budziak met one afternoon years ago when they nearly collided while riding their bikes in downtown Bozeman. They crossed paths a lot that summer
music, the farmers market, bike riding, rivers, dogs, etc.
and their love for travel, culture, people and the outdoors fostered a rich friendship. In the late 80s and early 90s, they both worked for Patagonia, the outdoor clothing company, and in 1999 they partnered up with two other friends and opened a Nepali style tea house. The tea house served lots of masala tea (chai!) of course, and authentic ethnic meals. They also sold exotic handicrafts in an Asian style bazaar. The idea was to nourish the community with Asian culture while helping to sustain the culture of foreign artisans globally. Four years passed. Lots of great trips and a couple of kids later, Jane and Emily decided to focus the concept a bit and start a wholesale company. So began Monkey Business. Now they work with more artisans in more countries and donate at least 1% (usually more) of sales to nonprofit artisan groups. They hope you love this!
